Welcome to Bodhi&Bass!

My name is Mark and I’m happy you’re here! I am a Buddhist practitioner, classical musician and educator, and also a Chan Priest in training (aka Junior Dharma Teacher). Because my goal is to realize and express Enlightenment (Bodhi) in daily activities (for me that’s most often playing the double bass), I called this organization – Bodhi&Bass.

Simply put, my mission is to be, and to help others be, truly content, stress-free human beings in everyday life. And the good news is, you don’t have to turn into some glassy-eyed hippy. All you have to bring with you is a sincere wish to follow the Buddhist path, in a secular, modern and yet traditional way.

If you’re brand new to all of this, start by reading what Buddhist Practice is about. To understand how Buddhist training in our community works, check out the Buddhist Training page. Once you’re done, check out the many resources available here to help you on your way:

Read The Blog it’s an opportunity to explore these ideas in depth, and to see how they function in daily life.

Listen to The Podcast – it’s a free Buddhist meditation course, where you can listen to teachings and practice different techniques used on the Buddhist spiritual path. All in one compact and systematic package.

Check out some Practice Resources – it’s the place for primary sources (the horse’s mouth), where you do some in-depth learning about different meditation techniques.

May you be content and at peace!
